In honor of Shavuot, jUbilee took place last Friday, May 17, 2013 from 5:30-10:30pm.
Held at the UChicago Alumni House, approximately 150 undergraduates, graduates, faculty, staff and community members gathered for an evening filled with snappy lectures by esteemed speakers on the topic of Judaism in America, Ethiopian food, and of course, cheesecake!

Throughout the night, students also held workshops in an adjacent room, providing jUbilee attendees yet another way to learn.
Ethiopian food catered by Jewish-owned Ras Dashen was a big hit, as was the cheese tasting from local artisinal cheese monger, Pastoral.
It wouldn't have been a jU event without some swag now would it? Students took home tank tops, notepads and cheese graters!
With more people attending than originally expected, jUbilee: A Learning Festival For Shavuot has set an exciting standard for jU events and we are so pleased to have been able to provide such an innovative and successful program for the UChicago community.
